How to Troubleshoot and Remove the Cooling Deck on an OMNI or Duravend Machine

  1. How to Check the Temperature Durvend
    1. Open the machine door
    2. Enter default passcode “000000”.
    3. Scroll right to “temp setting”
    4. Select “Set temp. mode”
      1. Set the mode to “cool”
      2. Enable glass heating to “enabled” (prevents fogging on glass door)
    5. Select “set target temp”
      1. Set to 5 Celsius
      2. You should hear the cooling deck activate in 5-10 minutes max.
  2. How to remove vending bin and access the cooling deck
    1. Open the glass door fully
    2. Reach into openings in the back of the bin and press the metal tabs towards the outside.
    3. Pull forward and down to slide the vending bin out.
    4. Remove 2 screws on the cooling deck cover. Remove cover.
    5. Remove 4 screws from the rear metal flashing of the deck towards the back of the vending machine.
    6. Move to the back of the machine and remove the screws around the vent cover. Set aside.
    7. Unplug wire harnesses attached to the cooling deck.
    8. Cut the zip ties holding the wire harnesses to the frame of the cooling deck.
    9. Remove the grounding bolt from the cooling deck frame.
    10. Using two common screwdrivers, pry up the rear bottom edge of the cooling deck frame away from the machine frame.
      1. Force the screwdrivers under the bottom edge of the cooling deck and lock against the machine frame to keep the rear of the cooling deck raised above the machine frame lip.
    11. At the front of the machine, wearing gloves and using a prybar, pry the deck upward to break the silicon seal holding the cooling deck frame in place. This will require a lot of force.
    12. Once free of the silicone seal, lift the deck up and out (over the metal box in front, depending on model).
  3. Troubleshooting the cooling deck
    1. Check to see if fans are blocked or restricted in freely spinning.
      1. If they are, try to clear blockage or restriction
      2. If you can’t call DVS tech support.
    2. If the compressor isn’t running or is very hot to the touch you need to replace it.
      1. We offer replacement compressor parts or new cooling decks.
      2. A local licensed refrigeration technician can also make compressor repairs.
