How to add or update a product’s photo/description/price
First you will need to add your product “types”, or categories into the system.
Click “Commodity Management“>”Commodity type”
Click “+Add” to add a new category, or “type”
Next, you will need to create a “supplier”. If you don’t want to track a “supplier”, you still need to create at least 1 default “supplier” for the system. This can be anything you want, i.e. “Placeholder Supplier”.
Next, you will add your products, a.k.a “commodities” into the Ourvend.com system.
Click ”Commodity Management”>“Commodity Info”
Click “+Add” to add a new product.
Click “Modify” to edit a product you’ve already created
Once in the commodity info screen click “add image”
Upload the product image file you wish to display.
“Commodity Code” can be any code you use to track this product. If you don’t have one, enter any unique code manually.
“Specs” are any nutrition or dosage information you wish to provide (Although this is a mandatory field, it does not currently display on the vending touchscreen UI).
“Supplier” is the product supplier or the default supplier you created in Step 6.iii (Although this is a mandatory field, it does not currently display on thevending touchscreen UI).
“Cost” is your cost of goods, i.e. what you paid to purchase the product. (This field is optional and does not display on the vending touchscreen UI.)
“Commodity Name” is the product name or title. This is displayed on the vending touchscreen UI.
“Unit price” is the price displayed on the vending machine. It is the price you want to charge for the product. This is displayed on the vending touchscreen UI.
“Expiration date” is optional and does not display on the vending touchscreen UI. You can use it for your own internal expiration tracking.
“Description” is mandatory, but we highly recommend each product has a description (up to 200 characters long, including spaces).
When you have edited all mandatory and optional fields click “submit” to save.
Repeat this process as needed until you have created all the “commodities” you want to add or edit in your machine.
Finally, you will add the new/updated “commodities” to “slot management” and push these changes to the machine:
Select which machine you want to edit by first selecting the “Machine group” from the dropdown menu and then select “Machine ID” from the dropdown menu, click “Query”.
If this is your first time editing the slots, they will be empty.
Select the slot number you want to change and click “Edit”.
For linked slots (double rows), please use the following settings:
“Whether to enable multiple slot” = Yes
Enter the “start slot” number and the “last slot number”.
For example: if rows #1 and #2 are linked for a bag of potato chips, “start slot” is “1” and “last slot” is “2”.
Select the product you want to add or change from the “Commodity name” menu. This will populate the “commodity info” you created earlier.
Edit the fields as needed.
When you have finished editing the slot should say “downloading”. When the updates are complete it will say “downloaded successfully”.
If you do not see “downloaded successfully” within 3-5 minutes please push the “audit” button and wait another 3-5 minutes.
